PGF Services’ Hauora Whānui/Public Health Team host this monthly professional development wānanga for people working in the public health space, with a focus on preventing and minimising gambling harm.
It is a mana-enhancing online platform that has value for professionals in many different roles and sectors, not exclusive to the gambling harm minimisation space. Other areas of interest include mental health, addictions, budgeting, family harm, suicide prevention and more.
We will provide a forum for services and professionals to present their mahi, with the foundation of this space built on the four Pae Ora objectives on page 41 of the Strategy to Prevent and Minimise Gambling Harm 2022/23-2024/25.
Te Oranga e Rikoriko Ai / Shining the Light on Gambling Harm provides opportunities for our colleagues to step up into their rangatira space, with the aim of reducing inequities.
Priorities are reducing gambling harm, achieving improved outcomes for Māori, and working in a way that recognises Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
